Why Quantum?

Today, I had an interesting conversation with a longtime reader and honest friend. She pointed out that, over the last few months, I seemed extremely happy—maybe even too happy. She wondered aloud whether all my curiosity, questions, and the constant back-and-forth conversations might feel overwhelming to the new people I’ve met, especially my new Quantum friends. I know she is going through a lot right now, so I tried not to take it personally. Yet, her words stayed with me, stirring a little doubt I hadn’t expected. Then she asked why, if I was so happy, I would make myself miserable by studying Quantum. The only answer I could give her was, “I know why the caged bird sings.”

I think the caged bird sings because, even while confined, something inside it still believes in self-discovery, freedom, and the chance to fly farther than it ever has before. For a long time, I was that caged bird—not literally in prison, but figuratively confined by circumstances I had to outgrow and force myself away from. Still, hope never left, and I continued to “sing”. That is why Quantum speaks to me. It is not confined to the simplicity of ones and zeros; it represents possibility, freedom, and a future shaped by countless possibilities. To me, Quantum is a way of reaching beyond what I can see, beyond ordinary explanations, toward something vast enough to make the cage feel less permanent. And right now, for the first time in a very long time, I am flying and it feels absolutely AMAZING!

So, yes, maybe I have been a little too happy. Maybe I have gone a bit overboard recently with my LinkedIn instant message comments, questions, and conversations, especially with my newfound Quantum friends. If so, my apologies. I am flying right now, and sometimes my excitement gets the better of me, but I hope they understand it comes from genuine admiration, not intrusion.
